About

Penarth Rifle Club is a private members club.

We shoot both air rifle and air pistol at 10 metres and 25 yards either in the standing or sitting position.

We also shoot .22 LR at 20 and 25 yards from a mixture of prone, sitting and standing positions.

We compete in both internal and external competitions.

Beginners/Probationer information

All new attendees wishing to become a member of the club must first join as probationary members.

Our night for beginners/probationers is on Thursdays between 7pm and 9pm

New probationary members are given a safety talk and induction before being able to begin shooting under supervision. We also provide the details of all probationary members to South Wales Police as is required by law.

Before being able to apply for full membership probationary members will need to attend the club a minimum of 12 times over a 6 month period. After that period they can then apply to the club for full membership. Membership applications are then considered by our Committee before any new members are approved.

Fees/Costs

Probationary members must pay a 'green fee' of £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for juniors each time they attend. There is an additional charge of £1.50 for the use of air rifles/pistols. Live ammunition is charged separately depending on the number and type of ammunition used.

Once admitted as a full member an annual fee for full membership is payable of £65 for adults and £20 for juniors.
